Identity Theft: Catch It Early, Stop It Faster

Identity theft can happen to anyone, but the sooner you recognize the warning signs, the easier it may be to limit the damage.

Watch for these red flags:

  • Charges you don't recognize
  • Unexpected withdrawals
  • Bills for accounts you never opened
  • Collection notices for unfamiliar debts
  • Missing mail or unexpected address changes
  • Alerts that someone has logged into one of your accounts

One of the best ways to protect yourself is by reviewing your financial accounts regularly. A quick review of your transactions each week can help you identify suspicious activity before it becomes a much larger problem.

If you notice something unusual:

  • Contact your credit union immediately.
  • Change passwords for affected accounts.
  • Monitor your credit reports and consider a credit freeze.
  • Report suspected identity theft as soon as possible.

Quick action can make all the difference.

Your credit union is here to help you navigate the next steps if you ever suspect fraud.

Think Before You Click. Small actions. Big protection.
