North Dakota Railroad Hall of Fame

On August 28th, 2022, the Board of Directors of the North Dakota State Railroad Museum announced the induction of Jacob P. Brucker into the North Dakota Railroad Hall of Fame.

Jacob P. Brucker, a Mandan resident, began his railroad career on the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1942. While working he became the ice foreman, chief clerk, and was the local chairman of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks from 1943 to 1982.

Around 1967 the Railway Credit Union was having financial issues, JP Brucker was approached by the North Dakota Banking Commissioner to take over the management of the local credit union. With his skills in bookkeeping, JP began as the treasurer and manager for Railway Credit Union. In 30 years under his direction, the credit union grew into a multi-million operation serving thousands of members. 

Jacob P. Brucker is recognized for his valuable contributions to the community of Mandan, the State of North Dakota, and the history of the railroads in North Dakota. The North Dakota Railroad Museum and Railway Credit Union recognizes and congratulates him for his many years of service to railroad and credit union history.
